Classes

Artestart has been established by myself and Catherine Tutor to provide a series of art workshops on drawing, colour, print and 3D.

 

Classes are based at Tutors' homes in Faversham and Herne Bay.

​

Classes cover the fundaments of art:

• painting using acrylic & watercolour paint

• drawing using pencil & charcoal

• perspective, scale & composition

additionally we can cover:

• digital video & editing

• digital photography & editing

 

Teaching

I believe that art has the ability to connect all ages and abilities, where people come together to be inspired and to create.

 

Since gaining my BA (Hons) and MA in Fine Art I have taught art at Canterbury College and at private art classes held in Maidstone, to adult learners from sixteen to eighty.

​

Catherine has taught art at Canterbury College, held workshops with Creative partnerships, local museums and was Head of Art at CATS College, Canterbury.

 

At Canterbury College teaching on the Access to Art and Design, HND Fine Art and the BA (Hons) Fine Art, I introduced students to a variety of mediums and techniques, including pencil, paint and print; considering perspective, scale and composition. Many of the students on the access course had little or no previous experience. Some attended the course to build a portfolio of artwork, others just wishing to learn new skills. On the HND and Degree in Fine Art I supported students through art workshops and exhibitions.
